Focus Two

Focus Two seeks to educate members with wealth creation strategies and ways to achieve financial success.

Focus Two at Améliorer is centered on empowering young individuals with the knowledge to maximize their financial potential and achieve success—whatever that may look like for them. For some, it could mean early retirement; for others, it may involve retiring at 65 with substantial wealth or simply increasing income to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. We aim to bring in mentors to further educate members and provide real-world experience.

No matter your definition of financial success, the strategies provided will be relevant to your goals. Most approaches will focus on broad principles for maximizing wealth, complemented by specific techniques. While many of these strategies are most effective after graduation, it’s essential to start learning and applying them now.

Why Is This a Focus?

Achieving personal financial success has become increasingly challenging in today’s world. With rising home prices, stagnating wages, and increasing inflation, many find it difficult to get ahead. At Améliorer, we are committed to helping the next generation thrive and find happiness in life. We believe that true success and happiness come from having the financial resources to support yourself and your goals.

We believe that college and early adulthood are the ideal times to learn and apply wealth-building principles. The earlier you start, the greater the impact these strategies can have over the long term.

How Will This Be Achieved and Implemented?

During Améliorer meetings, we will explore various strategies and methods for achieving financial success. These insights will be presented in concise, engaging lectures and made available as resources for future reference. As Améliorer grows, we aim to bring in mentors who will share their personal experiences and offer valuable guidance on their paths to success.

Introduction To Investing Part One

We’re excited to share our first-ever wealth creation lesson under Focus Two, which is now available by clicking the link above. This lesson is part of our wealth creation series titled Introduction to Investing. In this series, we aim to explore fundamental investment vehicles and provide our members with the most relevant information to get started.

In Part One of Introduction to Investing, we cover the basics of investing in funds, stocks, and bonds. These are some of the most common and accessible investment options available. Understanding how these work, the fees involved, and the associated risks is crucial before making any investment decisions. This video serves as a recap of Lesson One, more in-depth discussions and opportunities for questions were offered during the live meetings.

While this video may feel a bit long, those who take the time to learn and absorb these important principles will be much better prepared when it comes time to make their own investment decisions. Please keep in mind that we are not licensed financial advisors, so we encourage you to do your own research before making any investments.

Bogleheads Investment Philosophy

Bogleheads embrace a set of straightforward investment principles that have consistently delivered better risk-adjusted returns compared to the average investor. These principles are grounded in Nobel Prize-winning research, including Modern Portfolio Theory and the Capital Asset Pricing Model, and are inspired by the investing philosophy of John Bogle, the founder of Vanguard. Over time, many have contributed to this body of knowledge, including original forum members such as Taylor Larimore and Mel Lindauer, as well as respected authors like Larry Swedroe and Rick Ferri, who have introduced more advanced strategies.
